I started repairing PCs about 25 years ago. So before I bought this memory to upgrade my HP Compaq 8000 Elite SFF desktop, I checked the hardware reference guide to make sure they are compatible. Aside from memory times not being listed, this chip matches my motherboard specs. I bought two 4GB DIMMs individually as it was a bit cheaper than buying a kit with two 4GB DIMMs in the package. I removed the original memory from my system and installed both new DIMMs. When trying to boot the system I got a POST beep. Since this motherboard can accept a single DIMM, not pairs, I've tried each one individually to no avail. After restoring the original DIMMs, the system boots as before. Both new DIMMs are actually DOA. To return.
