Doesn't work with adapters

As is usual in the tech, some idiot has to come up with a new 'standard' fitting every 2 years. It was USB, then Micro-USB, not USB-C. This causes a huge problem as companies don't support rotating hardware to keep up with connectivity changes. With T460, WFH is essential during this Covid19 fiasco, but my Thinkpads HDMI connection sucks. I was hoping this would fix things but no luck. Using a USB-C to USB adapter just shows the display is unavailable with useless troubleshooting options. $25 wasted!
