I never considered the lack of standard ports on my laptop until I started using it for work. Two ports for power management, video, peripherals, etc. are hardly enough. I know it's moving more towards Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, although I still have a few devices that still use USB and I'd like to be able to charge my phone too. I've tried single component adapters like the HDMI adapter, which worked, but left me with no ports available. I tried the docking station but it occupied both ports and didn't have an ethernet adapter. It wouldn't work with my protective case either. I think I've finally found a solution. The cable, while not as good looking as a docking station, allows me to connect regardless of my case. It also frees up another USB-C port. Now I can travel with a single dongle that supports video, network, memory card, and USB ports. The color is beautiful and matches my Mac perfectly. I used it all day without overheating.
