Cable Matters is generally a quality brand, and so I am reluctant to criticize them too much. This cable isn't quite engineered properly. Specifically, it does not securely snap in to the connector on my external LaCie drive nor on my laptop. The connectors on the cable is just a hair too short somewhere. It might be the rubber casing around the connectors, or it might be the length of the teeth on the connectors, I don't know, but something isn't right. When using the cable, I found myself constantly checking to make sure the connectors were fully pushed into the devices (as the cable would frequently slip out if either the computer or the drive was moved). I do know that the Anker cable I replaced this one with is perfect. Plus, the 6 inch cable that came with the external drive works perfectly as well, so it is not the drive or the computer. The cable does work, just don't move anything.
