you will see in the reviews that they have problems with suction and holding on the surface. I thought so too for 3 weeks until one night while sitting down I noticed that the spinning pins on the base were not a child's toy. They actually create suction! Just turn those suction cups down and it gets a lot tighter. The kid can still pull the toy, but it will definitely help. Great toy to play with at the table or chair. Hope this helps people
