I just received this dehumidifier yesterday, plugged it in during the day and was immediately bombarded with an annoying high pitched humming noise. I put it in the corner of the dining room in the kitchen, hoping I wouldn't hear it from the living room. Failed! It's really annoying, but I decided to see how well it absorbs moisture before testing it or deciding whether to keep it. I have 4 dehumidifiers in different rooms/buildings on our property. These are all different brands and this one is the loudest. However, in less than 12 hours, he collected nearly an inch of water. Works perfectly! I hope I can take the constant annoying whining he makes!
