I've wanted to try an oral irrigator for a long time but I doubted how effective they were. I'm really glad I finally took the plunge and tried this out. It took me a while to get used to the shots of me squirting in the bathroom mirror and on my face. But despite my clumsiness and learning curve, this thing is great! I'm quite a fan of oral hygiene and my routine brushing/flossing usually takes forever. For example, make sure I have an audio book to listen to while I'm doing it, like forever. After the first use my mouth was really clean and fresh but I wanted to be sure so I did an experiment to compare it to my old one. dental floss method. I cleaned, flossed and rinsed. Then I cleaned a second time with a regular thread and rinsed again. During that final rinse, I spat into the glass to see if the second floss had removed anything that hadn't been caught by the irrigator. Gross, I know, but hey, science! I was amazed at how clear the water was. The oral irrigator didn't miss anything. The next evening I reversed the experiment. Brushing my teeth, then regular flossing and rinsing first, then I used water flossing and spat into a glass to see if there was anything left of my old flossing method. It wasn't bad, but the Irrigator definitely wins! The irrigator has multiple jet pulse settings to choose from, as well as three water pressure settings. I used the medium water pressure setting for my experiment and got good results, so this device is definitely enough to get the job done. I understand why that is (nice big water tank) and it's still easy to hold. It comes with a holdall which is a nice addition as you won't want to leave the house without one. It also has 4 applications. His and hers irrigators, a tongue cleaner and a brush with a small brush on the end for extra cleaning along the gumline. I am very happy with it and I think it will make my teeth and gums even healthier.
