I cut three turns off it and ground it.

I cut three turns off this, sharpened the end and popped it into my 2001 Dodge. Works well. You don't need a compressor for the spring, clamp the spring in a vise, wrap thin stainless steel wire around it and tighten, then place in the spring pocket in the door and cut the wire. I offer eye protection in case something goes wrong.
