I gave it 5 stars in all categories because it's not Dorman's fault that the stiff spring doesn't compress. Using the recommended installation tool makes this very easy. Otherwise you will have a hard time.

Good product seems durable Very hard and difficult to hit. I used a vise to compress the spring and then wrapped about 4 zip ties around it to keep it compressed. I installed it, then cut and removed the zip ties. Easier said than done. I'm sure the spring compressor is the way to go, but you know.

Get a tool to do this. I tried a vise and zip ties and it was still difficult. I got the tooling from O'Reilly Auto Parts. It was still difficult but possible to fix. Also, be careful not to point at it when you click it. I was lucky that I pointed to the ground and it bounced a lot.

I cut three turns off this, sharpened the end and popped it into my 2001 Dodge. Works well. You don't need a compressor for the spring, clamp the spring in a vise, wrap thin stainless steel wire around it and tighten, then place in the spring pocket in the door and cut the wire. This is an identical OEM replacement. I only replaced the old one because it had to be removed anyway. The new one was installed about 3 weeks ago and works great. Works great but you will need to purchase an inexpensive Revain installation tool. There are no instructions, so lubricate the tool bolt with assembly lube: Insert the tool just under the top spool on each end and push as hard as you can to seat the spring so you can see where it will be. Then loosen the nut and make sure the spring opens in the TWO correct places. A piece of cake if you do it right. Try wrong and you will not be happy and possibly angry.
