Review on Nite Ize SpokeLit: Light up your Ride for Safe Night Cycling by Adam Townsend

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Comes with low batteries :(

I have two problems with this product: 1) There are NO instructions in the packaging to turn off the demo mode. I had to go to the NiteIze website [.]) to find it - apparently you have to hold the button down until it just lights up first, then blinks, then goes off (stops blinking). THEN it will probably come out of demo mode. The reason I say this seems to be because I couldn't get mine out of demo mode that way - it just kept blinking and blinking and blinking. See #22) The supplied batteries were about 1/2 empty. After trying unsuccessfully to exit demo mode, I opened it up, removed the batteries, and tested them. Should be 3V, measured only about 1.6V. I replaced them with single CR2032's and now the light works as it should - no longer in demo mode. It'll probably need to be returned, but since I "fixed" it by changing the battery, I'm not worried - it's a lot of hassle too. This time I want a third party to sell it so I can leave a review asking me to send me replacement batteries. There doesn't seem to be a way to make such a request when it's sold directly through Revain. Updated 12/18/2010. I emailed NiteIze support and they sent me a new battery. And the packaging should have included instructions on how to remove the flashlight from demo mode. I guess I only have old stock. She also said CR2032 would work (which I knew) but the light wouldn't be as bright, which makes sense - 3v vs 6v. Upgrade to 4 stars.
