Review on 🐢 Karen Pryor's Clicker Training for Dogs: A Step-by-Step Guide for Beginners by Sara Wells

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The concept sounds sketchy, but it is scientifically sound and really makes sense.

I found this book to be well written, easy to understand and although I was skeptical before reading it, it really makes sense. Learning is based on operant conditioning (positive reinforcement), the effectiveness of which has been scientifically proven. My dogs really get this, which makes behavior training a lot easier than with traditional (negative) effects. I love Karen Pryor's approach so much that I bought another of her books, Don't Shoot the Dog! The New Art of Training and Training, detailing how and why this style of training works. I highly recommend both titles.
