Updated unit from 12/2019 broke after 2 months

Last update 04/12/2019 - although it looked good it died after only 2 months of use. everything was normal then the light was dimmed by about 80%? then a few days later the switch had a "short circuit" problem. Instead of turning on or off immediately, does it falter for a second or two? Bad enough that the light went from super bright to barely usable, but the issue with the switch above it wouldn't risk a fire so I threw it away. First Review - I needed to make more space around my desk. So I ordered this to replace my old lamp. I was surprised that the metal used for the lamp base and bodies was of such high quality for what I paid. The neck of the lamp looks normal. The weakest part is the lightbulb. Your beam is too narrow for my needs. it reminds me of one of my old mag lite flashlights. There is no way to darken it, so the central point is very bright. The kit includes the screws needed to attach the back panel to the surface you intend to place it on. then two smaller screws that you use to hold everything together. After installing mine, I was really surprised at how solid everything held together. The switch that turns on the lamp is large and easy to find. The switch is the only plastic part, but it seems to be of a higher quality than most.
