I have purchased several of these items for myself and many friends and family. I loved the taste of the wine after drinking it. I was so passionate that I backed their (ultimately failed) Kickstarter. So why the bad rating? Because it will not help you 100% after regular use. No cleaning instructions are provided, but apparently you can't run water through it (which doesn't make sense since it's used for liquids!). The top of the battery is not sealed, allowing water to enter. When I sent TWO of them back with the same problem, the company sent me a YouTube link in response on how to clean it (it would be nice to have those instructions with an aerator), and I was often offered a discount on aerators . Substitute. user error? Absolutely. But if there had been real instructions, this would not have happened. save your money There are other WATERPROOF electronic aerators that work just as well and cost a lot less money. I also replace all my gifts with other versions. - SURPRISE! - They're all screwed up too. So disappointing.
