I bought these because the mirrors on my 2014 V-strom 1000 were too close together and almost unusable. At best, my shoulders blocked at least half the view of the mirrors. These spacers completely solved the problem and barely changed the look of the bike. Another benefit of slightly offset mirrors is the reduction in shake. I didn't realize how much turbulence the mirrors caused until they were moved. Installation was easy, but I recommend using a good threadlocker. The wind load on the transoms puts more stress on the mounting points and will eventually loosen the bolts unless secured with Loctite or similar.
