PROS – The build feels solid. — The crank seems strong enough for the task. - I like the setting where it silently monitors the weather channel and only turns on in an emergency. Midland radios sound an alarm, but this radio can be set to sound an alarm or a WX station (which I prefer). - The same function is easy to set up for your county. CONS - The buttons are 90% hidden under the handle and the type is small. They can't be seen with my 40 year old eyes - Weather channel reception isn't as clear as my Baofeng UV-5R - There was no AC charger in my kit, just a short USB cable - The tuner disc is annoying because it takes forever to go from 88MHz to 108MHz. This isn't the user experience I expect for $80, so I WILL RETURN IT. I can consider a cheaper version if I can't find another radio with the WX Silent Monitor feature.
