Update November 2020 After 2.5 years the print I bought in 2018 still works fine. I'm glad people found the following useful. This seal has helped stop what I call grinding (others call it haloing) on my 4 year old Kohler double flush toilet where some water silently flows out of the cistern and after a few minutes the cistern fills up. If your tank has a white center canister with tabs on the bottom so it can be pulled out vertically (vs. the canister model that unscrews), this gasket is a great candidate for a repair. And as mentioned below, my old gasket had several hard bulges, each 1/4 to 3 BB in size - I'm pretty sure one or more sitting on top of the plastic fitting was the source of the leak. The main thing I would add is that there are tools on the Kohler website to determine the model of the toilet and then the specs with exploded views of the tank. Look closely at the toilet specifications - on the sheet you will see different part numbers for the cistern and bowl. If you can't get to the parts diagram, try google your tank's model number and find the diagram on the tank datasheet (not easy to find unless you google it). And despite all that, Kohler's customer service is very helpful and responsive. Also note that some tanks allow you to upgrade to a newer spin-on canister ($65 part), but the upgrade requires the tank to be removed. Before paying for all the upgraded service kit, canister and hassle of installation. if you have the old delete tab style. First try replacing that particular gasket 1131496 (The newer canister has a different gasket elsewhere.) All of this will become clearer if you pull the schematics from the Kohler site. It was said above that it is very easy to pull out a retractable canister with the help of two tabs, then remove the old seal, fit a new one and put the canister back in place.
