Works well, sizing can be a little tricky.
This was the cheapest solution to our problem when we were moving out of the house and none of our children's gates fit where we needed them. They saved us from buying new gates or full side extensions and seem pretty solid due to the rear traction. The only problem we have is that the walls in our new house are not very square. I bought the larger size based on my measurements at the bottom of the stairs, but the wall clearance was smaller at the top (never assume your walls are evenly spaced) so I had to improvise to make it work because I didn't want it Buy an additional set of the smaller size.
