Review on Galashield Disposable Wooden Spoons Biodegradable by Amy Fenner

Revainrating 2 out of 5

COTTON WILL NOT HAVE MUCH

Spoon sized handles. These are not mini spoons. These are regular sized compostable spoons. I thought the spoon looked a little flat, but it worked great with my yogurts. The problem occurred with soups and stews. They were too flat, not curved like a spoon, so couldn't hold much soup liquid. After leaving them in my glasses of instant ice tea mixes, they literally spilled them out like a giant scoop. So if I wanted to put just one scoop in my water cups, that was impossible when it was covered in such a way as a giant snowball! Besides, they weren't miniature. They had the usual long handle, which means you need more space to store them, which also means more landfill or more compost land has to be used just to remove them from the environment - which means "eco-friendly". ("Gmark 4" Mini Wooden Spork 200ct Biodegradable Compostable Birch Wood Fork by Revain is MINI SIZE and makes a great use as a fork.) I still use disposable compostable forks but have given up disposable compostable forks. I've gone back to using metal soup spoons, better for the environment, better for me.

Pros
  • Disposable plates, bowls and cutlery
Cons
  • Out of fashion
