Review on Eviciv Portable Monitor: Touch Screen, Built-In Speakers, 7-Inch Display (1024X600), MDS-702 by Anthony Kidd

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Bad first impression though.

Pros: Connectivity. GPIO, PCC HDMI, USB to Molex for touch screen + power supply, HDMI, MicroUSB (USBC is better.) Touch screen. Works very well. Cons: Dead pixels. Two weeks have passed and I have three dead pixels. Rough, especially for a multi-pixel display. Power. A bit noisy and crackling at startup. This is the case with any type of power supply. Bad display quality. Simply the worst IPS I have ever seen. It appears to be edge lighting, which is very poorly done - all sorts of highlights everywhere. Flicker. Very strange color behavior - it seems to blink between blue and red when the display is solid black or white. Very strange, I've never seen anything like this. Stripes between pixels are visible. It just seems like the spacing between pixels is inconsistent, no idea how that happens. EDIT: EVICIV contacted me and really did everything they could to fix this. They send me another device for free; They might have some quality control issues, but they really nail it. The support team alone raised my rating from two to four stars, the fifth depends on getting the device and checking the first lemon.
