Dry body brushing is said to energize the body, increases circulation and blood flow, and stimulates drainage from the lymphatic system to smooth skin's surface, sweep away flakes and dry patches, and even out lumps and bumps, including cellulite. I use this for dry brushing. The bristles aren't *too* stiff and have already bent or frayed a little, but I like that. If they were stiffer, it'd just irritate the skin. That said, it does the job right. I've bought brushes for twice the price, and they weren't better than this one. The natural bristles are nice and stiff -- excellent scrubbing ability; I like this because every other brush I've tried has super-soft, wimpy bristles, often made of synthetic materials. Not this one -- it really gets the job done, and I feel wonderfully clean. Happily, it's also a quite beautiful brush. You can see the gorgeous striped bamboo wood, and on the back of the brush is a lovely scroll pattern. As a dry brush with regards to circulation, it absolutely works. My favorite thing about these other than the abrasive nature is how warm you feel after you do it. On cold mornings, it makes all the difference!
