Review on ☕ Fire-Maple Tea Kettle: Premium Coffee & Tea Pot Set for Camping Cookware Enthusiasts by Rahul Schatz

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Light and functional, but there is still room for improvement.

Use this kettle every day all winter, both at the cabin and on the hike. I've used it on several types of ovens. White gas, propane, isobutane and on the burner of my wood stove. It works. However, the water in it doesn't boil as quickly as even in an open stove with a heat exchanger that I have. I think the problem is that the heat exchanger fins don't make direct contact with the bottom ring. There is space and therefore no heat conduction takes place. It might not matter on a pocket rocket style isobutane stove, but I've never been able to get results close to my other pot on a wood stove. Second Complaint. The lid sits so close to the spout that even a small overflow knocks the lid off, or at least water runs out everywhere. Learning to handle something, but when you're pouring boiling water, the steam escaping from the flipped lid can burn your hand. Third Complaint. The orange handle material looks like soft silicone like the GSA pots, but it's actually just hard plastic. It looks cheap and doesn't insulate nearly well enough. I catch myself half the time having to grab a potholder to pick something up. Other than that, it's a pretty decent 1.5-litre pot, but they could certainly do a little better.
