Worked great on test run

I just tested it before my vacation. 1 liter of tap water consumed. Steamed in 6 minutes, cooked in 10 minutes. Will not leak or deform when hot. Seems to be very similar to the big names in build quality.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons

solid product. in coffee and teapots

Great item for the price. Didn't work well with my trusty Primus burner. However, it worked great with the $13 etekcity burner. No "miraculous" shortening of the boiling time. Cold well water boils 3/4 in less than 10 minutes at 6,000 feet. The lid is a little wobbly. So practice before attempting to pour out a full pot. Solid product with 4.5 stars. But the price makes it a 5.

Boils fast, ideal for camping and hiking

I bought and built a hanging bracket to use this kettle for boiling water and coffee during offshore/long-distance sailing. In theory, this idea works great, but as soon as it boils over from overflowing, it becomes dangerous to drive. But this kettle boils fast and works great. It should work great when camping and on a stable surface.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No power

Reliable, fast, locking cap required

Robust and durable. The whole pot boiled in about five minutes. However, 1.8 liters are about to be overfilled. So when you boil water, you lose some volume. I used it as a test cooking in my kitchen. When squeezing out the water, the loose-fitting lid slipped off, causing mild steam burns to my hands. I also dropped the kettle and spilled the rest of the water. I would try a thin silicone O-ring for the lid.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Concealable

Perfect shit. Do not buy.

Whatever engineer designed this thing obviously believes in a world where human skin can successfully withstand the burning steam that seeps right into your hand when you hold a pen. There's no way to avoid this other than with a full oven mitt, but you definitely won't be taking it on a hike in the woods. My $6 Wal-Mart kettle works better (cooks a little slower but doesn't cause any physical harm).

Pros
  • Durable Test Results
Cons
  • Safety

Tough and durable enough for any camping use, yet compact and lightweight.

I bought XT2 because of the larger size. Really faster than my "regular" kettle heats the same amount of water; about 30% faster, they said. It seems to take longer to heat up, but I didn't measure it. The handle is cool to the touch, but you may need to keep it upright while heating as shown in the product image. Tough and durable enough for any camping use, yet compact and lightweight. As with most camp stoves of this size, tipping a full kettle very steeply and quickly can tip the spout and…

Very good for the price

Appears to be well made and nicely finished. The anodized finish isn't very thick, making the aluminum underneath feel rough, but it's fine for casual camping use. The spout is fantastic and pours great which is great for properly brewing coffee with a drip filter or aeropress. The included tea ball is a nice touch, but there's no chain to hang it from so it just bounces around inside. It would be a five star product but the lid doesn't fit properly and just falls out if you tilt the kettle…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Large and bulky

Light and functional, but there is still room for improvement.

Use this kettle every day all winter, both at the cabin and on the hike. I've used it on several types of ovens. White gas, propane, isobutane and on the burner of my wood stove. It works. However, the water in it doesn't boil as quickly as even in an open stove with a heat exchanger that I have. I think the problem is that the heat exchanger fins don't make direct contact with the bottom ring. There is space and therefore no heat conduction takes place. It might not matter on a pocket rocket…
