This is not an expensive leash and after reading some of the reviews I was concerned. These are very good lines, just not as finished as more expensive lines. We have several small dogs and I hate that the other leashes we have the metal clasp keeps hitting small dogs. and with so many dogs, I wanted something that would be quick and easy when going to the vet or trying to stop them in a hurry. The sliding ring is good for quick holding. And to keep the dog from getting into a snap, I put the collar through the ring, and at 4ft long, small dogs don't get tangled in the leashes as much.
