The Sony ICF-506 is a handy radio that most people will love. Find my name and model for a full review of this youtube radio. The radio has a low pitched tone which is fine on FM and not so great for me on AM. I like the crisp, bright and clear sound of AM broadcasts and I have a hard time liking this sound choice. It also uses a step-by-step tuning approach instead of a purely analog tuning method. I'm still warming up, some radios do this very well and some don't. I'd say this one works well on FM and Medium on the AM band. The extreme stations in the AM band can either tune in or go out of tune and cause pops. Features I liked best about this radio: * AC power. Simple cable, built-in transformer.* Optional battery operation.* Very good FM sound quality!* Carrying handle* Clear and precise tuning scale.* Battery charge indicator. Things I would like to change or improve:* No gradual adjustment.* Tone toggles or controls to make the sound even brighter.* Improved AM reception.* FM stereo when using headphones. This radio is great for most people. The collector or serious tuner may not be very happy with the quality of the AM. It's a solid buy at $40 as most will like it with AC support.
