I bought this to replace a clock radio that was taking up a lot of space because of the CD player. I thought the projection would be nice if I could tell the time in the middle of the night without turning over and looking at the head of the bed. As it turns out, I still use the old alarm clock and got my wife a new one for a number of reasons. The projection was too complex to see the numbers because they are too close together and the number display has too many gaps to see exactly which numbers are being projected. My wife couldn't see the red numbers and wanted them to be blue like the display (which is easy to tell from the numbers as the spacing between them is good and the numbers are solid lines not stripes). Buttons were the second reason. turn off the alarm clock when i get up, at four thirty it's hard to find. I often wake up just before the alarm goes off; then turn it off before it wakes my wife. My old clock has large, well-lit buttons for turning off the alarm and checking that mine is on.
