Inexpensive LED light at Fish & Aquatic Pets

I bought two Asta 120 freshwater lights for my 70 gallon planted aquarium. They have worked for me 6-7 hours a day for the past 2 months. Overall I was very happy with them up until the last week or so, but more on that later. The headlights were well packaged with all the necessary parts. The light is neatly attached to the gooseneck and looks great on my rimless tank. I will say the power cords are a little short and don't allow the cord to form a drip loop. The gooseneck starts out pretty solid and allows you to place lights in multiple positions, and they carry the weight of the light itself pretty well. The lights are fan-cooled, which causes some noise when in use, but they're not overly loud. I recommend ordering some black zip ties to secure the cord to the gooseneck when deleting the profile. As I said, I was generally very happy with the light, that is, up until about last week. I noticed that the light was fading. Essentially, the quality of the LEDs appears to be poor. When I found out that Shelly had installed the lights they were extremely bright and powerful but over time they dimmed considerably. I would be surprised if they last a year. Overall I think this is a good budget lamp to use for planted aquariums. Can't comment on the quality of the LEDs retaining their original brightness, but I've seen pretty mixed reviews. In the end, I would give this light both a thumbs up and a thumbs down, giving a mixed review. The build quality and components look great, but the overall performance of the device leaves a lot to be desired. I will post another review in six months to provide another update. If the manufacturer wants to contact me and ask me to try another light, I'd be happy to do so.
