Review on Fraid Not Sandals By Sanuk by Tim Knoepfle

Closest thing to minimalist I've found in a leather flip flop.

I spent hours and hours trying to find a nice leather flip flop with a low heel to toe drop and no arch support. This is the closest thing I've found so far. Havaianas were very close but they don't make a leather foot bed version. This flip flop does have some drop (maybe 4mm?) from heel to toe, but it is very gradual and so is not that noticeable. There is also some small amount of arch support (WHY?!?!) but I was actually very pleasantly surprised that it did not bother me.As for materials, they were comfortable the first time I put them on (no hot spots after walking around) and it seems as though they will just get even better as the leather breaks in. It's only been a month so far, but they seem to be sufficiently durable. The very bottom seems a little soft, but I'm not a foot scuffer, so I expect these to last a long time.I'm a size 11 and the 11's I ordered were true to size. I also have wide feet and these had plenty of room for my foot.

Pros
  • Love em, have lasted over a year now with heavy use in the water, hiking, ect.
Cons
  • Prone to getting dirty quickly
