Review on Merrell Girls Hiking Purple Little by Gopal Baltimore

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The measurement system confuses me

This is the second of two Merrell trail shoes that I have recently ordered. Both said 4-8 years. I realize I have no idea how these numbers work. My wife buys all the clothes for the kids and I guess I shouldn't. The first one I ordered which said it was 4 to 8 years old arrived in a size that barely fit my 11 month old. This pair looks like my four year old son won't have at least one more year. So make sure you understand the size chart when ordering. Let's get to the shoes themselves. As with most children's clothing, Velcro is the way to go. It's no different. Easy to put on, easy to take off. The opening stretches wide enough for children to put on and take off by themselves. The upper is made from a mixed material and the stitching is designed to withstand the rigors of a five year old. The outsole is more like a loose barefoot style than a traditional hiking sole. This is the first time I've seen these in children's clothing. I don't shop here regularly either. So I may have to go back and update this in the future. I hope that by then I will have a better understanding of the measurement system.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
