Review on Pyle PLPW8D 8in Car Subwoofer - Powerful 800W Audio Speaker for Enhanced Vehicle Stereo Sound System by Mitchell Norman

REVISED - the cone makes an annoying rattling noise. This started shortly after receiving the device. It doesn't occur at all frequencies, but is very noticeable in the 808 kick and mid floors. I examined the subwoofer closely and could not find the source of this rattle. Other reviews have pointed out a dust cap, but I don't intend to ruin the cosmetic by cutting out the dust cap. If it's just a problem with the voice coil contacting the concave dust cap then that can be fixed, and otherwise it's a really good sounding cheap low power subwoofer. I'm afraid it will be the same problem. I'm considering returning this item but I don't want to play the quality control lottery. 2 stars for this completely ridiculous racquet. for my home audio system which is currently (no pun intended) breaking. parallel @ 2 delivers about 200 watts (overloaded old school US 100) in such a case more than little enough to run Techmaster PEB and Dynamix II doing a great job. on a budget sub decent outing for a low budget sub not dirty @ spec-8 holes instead of the usual budget 4-3, 2-4-8 impedance options - fairly light, good for a race car sub or car in general . While this is more common sense than a scam - I can't think of anything else. Overall I give this a 4 star rating which is quite high for a very low budget subwoofer and 5 stars for value. You can't get the top 8 for less.
