I put them in an old radio shop (30 years ago they had quality components, approximate age) I bought second hand Optimus dual channel subwoofers. REVISED - the cone makes an annoying rattling noise. This started shortly after receiving the device. It doesn't occur at all frequencies, but is very noticeable in the 808 kick and mid floors. I examined the subwoofer closely and could not find the source of this rattle. Other reviews have pointed out a dust cap, but I don't intend to ruin the cosmetic by cutting out the dust cap. I tried a 6" subwoofer from the same range but in a custom box with the terminals set to 55Hz. I placed the eight in a tubular body that is about a cubic inch smaller.
