Review on Pyle PLPW8D 8in Car Subwoofer - Powerful 800W Audio Speaker for Enhanced Vehicle Stereo Sound System by Bill Garczynski

Revainrating 5 out of 5

After connecting to a good amplifier, this is enough.

EDIT**** Alright, so I installed this on a 3kW Max amp capable of driving a subohm. Amplifier for the big boy. I tried a 6" subwoofer from the same range but in a custom box with the terminals set to 55Hz. I placed the eight in a tubular body that is about a cubic inch smaller. I connected everything in parallel so it drops to one ohm. I turned the amp on a little less than halfway and it rocked my world for about 10 minutes. Attack. There was more bass than I expected from this combination. Now I only use 8 in a sealed case at about a third of the amp's maximum volume. Oh, and he's perfect. Put a little bump at 100Hz and a +6dB curve peaking at 50Hz and it's perfect. This sub is good, you just need decent hardware and a good tune when you turn it on. I'll update when I blow it up. I actually warped the basket and now the 6 inch woofer rattles like a bitch but it technically hasn't exploded. I'm very surprised it didn't catch fire. I am now using a Re-Cone dual DVC voice coil which is around 800 RMS with a Boss 8 inch subwoofer. got something like 600 watts average across the clamps at 0.97 ohms. It's enough to take your breath away in a cab in my old Ford. 6 - an interesting sub. I never actually blew it up, it just deformed under heavy loads. I never would have expected that from such a cheap sub. I will order another one but it will be used in a home audio project where it will never see more than 100 watts. They pick up bass that's perfect for classic rock and other music genres that use a tighter kick drum sound. If you hit it with Juice in the 60-100Hz range, it hits really hard, so hard that the basket deforms. If you're trying to get hard hits I'd recommend 8 inches or more. I'm 5" 9' and can comfortably fit an 8" panel behind my seat and operate my 5 speed cab. The 10 I have in it now sits on the passenger floor lol no tabs for the bass!
