I bought my daughter a nice ride that wasn't cheap. It came with a double size lead-acid battery and a voltage indicator (like all). After about 3 months, even the double size battery didn't last 30 minutes before the ride slowly started to die. You know. You've seen it happen. So I looked for lithium ion batteries and most of them cost over $100. This one was under $70 so I bought it. Got it on time, it was half the size/weight of the lead-acid cable and it was very easy to connect (have to crimp the wires slightly to get a tight fit). I also bought a battery meter for a lithium ion battery as the voltage gauge doesn't accurately show the discharge. cheap, comes in a set of two. The only lesson I've learned is that once you plug the cable into the meter, it doesn't come out without destroying the cable. I digress. I took my daughter for a walk on the charger. We drove about 45 minutes (before installing the battery meter). He didn't miss a single hit. I fully charged it last weekend and then I got a full idea of what this little battery is capable of. Daughter drove 10-15 minutes to another house, slightly uphill 2. Friends constantly drove 30-45 minutes 3. Home drove another 10-15 minutes. When I got home, the battery indicator still showed 35%. So, a full hour (or more) and still enough, maybe 25-30 minutes? I'm sold! By the way, there were always 2 children in the car when we arrived at the alternative home. the extra payload didn't overload the battery! Worth every penny.
