I recently bought a 2018 MacBook Pro and now need dongles/cables to get my old peripherals (namely my external hard drive) to work with USB-C on the laptop. This cable is great because it allows me to connect my external drive's Micro-B port directly to my MacBook's USB-C port without a USB-A to USB-C adapter. However, I ran a speed test using the Blackmagic Read/Write Speed Utility using this cable and my old USB A to Micro B cable and noticed a slight drop in speed when swapping the Revain cable over the included one USB-A cable use supplies. Hard disk. That's pretty minor, especially since I only use my external drive for photo editing, but if you're into video, you might want to consider alternative solutions.
