I installed this on my 2008 VW R32. The factory already had a great quality 10 speaker sound system but I felt it lacked the bass. I hooked up this subwoofer to an 1800w Kenwood amp and the pair really revved up so much that it completely drowned out the rest of the system. I reduced the gain on the amp to 25%. At this level, the bass control on the main unit does a great job of matching just the right amount of bass to my preferences for the different types of music I listen to. This is a quality subwoofer with a great wired system (which is what subwoofers should use) and has the ability to rattle and vibrate all the bolts out of my car. I was concerned that the sound quality would be compromised by the "shallow" subwoofer. Let me put those worries to rest. I would put this low profile subwoofer against any bank of conventional blind sounding subwoofers and pay anyone $50 to tell mine from a low profile subwoofer. Even my installers were very impressed with this subwoofer.
