Review on πŸ“» Zerone Airband Radio Receiver: DIY Kit - High Sensitivity 118-136MHz AM Aviation Band Receiver by Daniel Paige

Revainrating 2 out of 5

I needed something to do while I was at home. I was so disappointed with this project.

In my sixth week of staying the night at home, I found this kit on Amazon and decided to order it. Excited that it arrived 2 days early, I opened the package to only find a schematic, parts list, or assembly instructions. While compiling my own parts list and searching the internet for help, I found a site with some help. I started by placing the resistors and comparing what I found online with the schematic that was sent with the unit only to find differences between them. What I found online was an exact match to the PCB I had in my hands and I decided to follow the schematic I had and match the parts as is. After further research I found other websites selling this kit with the included case and additional instructions with much better reviews from the people who built this kit. I decided to finish the one I had to enjoy despite the bumps in the way. Completed assembly and another non-working project in a box with other kits. I have 7 in the bin and over 100 in the working stack so I can say I'm pretty good with electronics and kit building. I ordered another set with a case and better papers from another company (e-bay). I will wait 4 weeks to get it but I'm sure the build will go much better. In short, read reviews, explore other sites and don't waste your money on this seller. I gave it 2 stars because it gave me something to do. Don't forget to wash your hands and give some love to your family.
