If you want to use this for winter hiking, winter sports, cross-country skiing, etc., do not buy it. They are not breathable as advertised and sweat sticks to the fabric and lands on your face as a cold, sticky, uncomfortable mass. We learned this the hard way after wearing them on a snow hike. As others have pointed out, they are also quite large. There are much better options for winter leggings for just a few dollars more than these. Leggings can only be used as a neck gaiter, not as a winter face covering. They're soft, so if you only want to use them to go outside for sedentary activities and you have a big head, they'll work just fine.
