Firstly I picked the wrong colors which is very annoying. Bought them for a ski trip and didn't have time to send them back. They are very soft and comfortable, they can be worn outside on a chilly night but they will not keep you warm if used as a winter mask on a motorcycle. I had to put 2 more layers on the bottom so my face didn't get cold driving home one night and in the 60's it was still cold. I think they are perfect for autumn and spring night riding. The fringe that runs along your face (above your nose and under your eyes) is quite thick and won't fit your face snugly.

If you want to use this for winter hiking, winter sports, cross-country skiing, etc., do not buy it. They are not breathable as advertised and sweat sticks to the fabric and lands on your face as a cold, sticky, uncomfortable mass. We learned this the hard way after wearing them on a snow hike.
