Review on ๐Ÿ›‘ KOAUTO Brake Clutch Pedal Stop Pads - 2 Pcs Honda Acura Accord Civic 46505-SA5-000 by Matt Nichols

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy repair; Replace this part at least every 10 years to avoid more serious problems.

I bought it to have on hand. The last batch I got (3) from another source was installed: in my Accord, my wife's CRV and now the neighbor's Accord. So I haven't installed either of them from Koauto yet. However, there's no reason to expect problems with them: they seem identical to the previous ones I've used: same white color, etc. This is the easy part; I suspect everything I had came from the same mold for those who actually make them. Honda really should have designed this system differently, at least by making that retaining seal out of a material that won't break down when exposed to heat. In my experience it looks like you get 13 to 18 years of it and they fall apart on the carpet in front of the driver's seat; This will keep your brake lights on, and if you don't fix the problem quickly, your battery will drain and your car's computer will shut down, causing a big problem. Smart move: Replace the retainer pad at least when your car is 10 years old and prevent a dead battery scenario. It's very simple: If the old seal hasn't fallen out yet, simply break it out with a dam/pliers etc. and insert a new one: it only takes a few minutes. If your shoe is already crumbled, pull out the brake light fuse or attach some coins or a thin piece of wood etc to the brake pedal axle at the top of where you want the shoe to press the little plastic pin on the end of the pedal. Brake light switch back to this switch to turn off the brake lights. - As a temporary fix, it can save you from the dead battery issue and subsequent computer problems.
