Not sure if that was supposed to happen BUT the rope itself was and still works like a charm

I have this laying rope Bought a gap on my charcoal grill to fill. I attached it to the lid and let the weight of the lid rest on the base of the grill. This works exactly how I hoped it would! The difference is day and night as I have this rope didn't have. Now I can actually smoke because the smoke doesn't escape through the gap between the lid and the base. When you first take the rope out of the bag, you'll find that it falls off. A LOT! I tried shaking it, rubbing, rocking and whatever else I could think of but I couldn't get rid of the strings that came off the rope So after I attached it to the lid of my grill (using a Permatex 81878 Ultra Copper Maximum Temperature RT V Silicone Gasket Maker) and letting it dry for two days (although the silicone only took 24 hours to dry), I fired up my grill. . I poured some lighter fluid on the rope and lit the grill. The fire actually ended up getting rid of the falling strands. Now. Not sure if that was supposed to happen BUT the rope itself was and still works like a charm. I just couldn't eat rope strings in my food.

Pros
  • Flexible rope 1/4"- 5/16", 84" long
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
