Review on πŸšͺ AGSHOME Smart Garage Door Opener Remote, Wireless Wi-Fi Garage Door Controller with Alexa, Google Assistant, Siri Compatibility - APP Control, No Hub Required by Danny Porter

the title lies, NOT compatible with Siri

Was a bit difficult to install. Attempted instructions saying to use a nail to push the "butoh" through. I've searched and searched, I can't find a single hole for a hidden button. Eventually she guessed they were referring to the only obvious button that never lit up, which I would say was quick, meaning pairing mode. Could never connect to the network. We brought the device next to the router, then it connected without any problems (except for manually entering the network name and password), I didn't even have to press the button to turn it on. So the device is installed, the only tricky part is installing and aligning the sensor. But it comes with screws, bolts, brackets, and double-sided tape, so there are plenty of options. With the SmartLife app (a must-have pairing app), the door moves up and down. YUP! Then ask Siri to open the door, she doesn't understand what I'm talking about. Look in the "Home" application, there are no units. Noticed there is NO HomeKit code with the block. I believe there is no HomeKit or Siri control. At least that's how all my switches/dimmers/sockets work. The directions only say Alexa and Google, nothing about Siri. Now I have to figure out if I should return the unit, or if the 9pm "timer" "turns off" (? assuming turning off means closing the door) is good enough. Asking Siri if the door is closed is not part of the discussion. But I really don't like it when salespeople lie outright. Isn't false advertising a federal crime?

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Almost everything ok
