The legs are too long for my purposes.

This guy is pretty good, but not perfect - at least in my area. If I've done a lot of hardwood camping I might be tempted to cook over an open fire, in which case this grill's long legs might come in handy. Anyway, the most common trees I camp by are conifers, which give off a pretty nasty smoke. Because of this I have to wait for the wood to burn to charcoal before cooking with it, at which point the legs get too tall. I typically use the grill with my legs down, propped up on rocks or sticks, and swinging no more than 2 inches high between the coals. I might even cut off the legs at some point because they're just getting in the way now. One small note that doesn't relate to the overall quality of the grill - I tried using it as a pot stand over a small camp stove. for extra stability. BAD IDEA. One of the wires making up the grid got very hot and almost melted after sagging badly. As this isn't its intended purpose, it doesn't deserve a star in my opinion, but it's worth knowing.
