I bought this camera almost a year ago and haven't done much with it other than a few test shots. Before buying it, one reviewer said it could take 960 shots without changing batteries, and while some people don't like the fact that it uses AA batteries, that's actually what made me buy this camera. Who needs a specific battery that might eventually be discontinued? Not me. Simply replace 4 AA batteries and throw the old ones in the nearest trash can. I didn't notice any delay in autofocus. I still have the original batteries in the camera, since I haven't used them much the internal clock keeps the time quite well. It came with a USB cable to connect to a computer which is still in the box but I took out the memory card and put it in my little Kodak and plugged it into the computer and uploaded photos that were sharp enough without any problems to cut me Eyes! I took a few shots at night in a small room with a small lamp and no flash and then repeated the shot with flash and there was almost no difference, both were sharp. I was amazed at the lighting and sharpness without flash indoors at night. I took some very clear outdoor shots from the patio without a flash in broad daylight that came out fantastic. Before this camera I had 2 small Kodaks that still work great, one is a 7.1 megapixel which I used to take 24x36 poster pictures and it came out great. Some of the reviewers here probably received faulty items hence the reviews they left, but I definitely think it's worth the money. If you think your camera strap is going to snap, hold on to your camera! Several reviewers mentioned blurry footage when zooming in, but another reviewer was absolutely right when he said you need to use a tripod or brace against a tree or railing. A free hand when using the zoom gives you a blurry shot with almost any camera! I haven't noticed any batteries draining quickly, my 2 Kodaks that only use 2 AA batteries have decent battery life with the average Duracell or Energizer. I haven't used my camera for moving subjects, so I give in to reviews that say this model isn't the best for action or sports, but for any type of photography, indoors, outdoors, in different lighting conditions, you can't with this. not correct. Right after my first review, I experimented with the zoom outdoors and really saw what the other reviewers had in mind when they said the autofocus took a few seconds. However, you will need a tripod or some other way to stabilize your camera for zooming, otherwise your shots will be blurry every time. Waiting 5 seconds for autofocus doesn't kill me. It's probably not the best camera for sports or fast action, but if that's not what you need then this is great.
