This thing is pretty cool. It fully illuminates my 60 foot wide house with garage. I definitely noticed several cars stopping to watch the snow fall. Works best in areas you haven't covered. I confirm that this is evidence of rain. I placed the light and sphere block on some weatherproof boards for stability. I would definitely buy again. Edited to add that I recently got a second light and the difference is amazing. Be sure to place the light as far away from the ball as possible so that the flakes of light on the house are as small as possible and the ball slows down so much that it hardly moves. It used to look decent, but now it really stands out. In terms of weather protection, it weathered our recent rain and wind event well in the Pacific Northwest's Pineapple Express. Edited to add: Wow. Not sure about these other reviews of this bug as mine has been working great for 2 years now. Yes, it's a disco ball in a box, but it still works. I attached the lights to a piece of 2x6 board for stability and placed the box on another 2x6 board. He survived any weather. There is some rust on the light adjustment screws. That's all. And like I said before, you need to add another light source to get the best effect. I was tempted to combine it with one of these new lasers just to see the effect. In any case, I can only report my personal experience and I am quite satisfied with this product.
