I fitted this into a table but was surprised to see that the short sides of the unit have a protrusion just a few millimeters larger than the hole that would need to be cut out Tabel. I hope you are better at woodworking than me as inevitably my hole was too big and therefore not as clean as I would like the light to shine through the sides of the unit. The exhaust works well, and the below-average rating, as expected, corresponds to no margin for error in determining the required hole size. If the overhang was at least 1/4 inch that would be great!
