I bought this inexpensive camera for use with a desktop PC. The video works quite well, but there were some unexpected flaws. The microphone is bad even up close. Skype switched from my headset to the camera mic without notifying me and people told me they could barely hear me. Also, the 3.6mm 70-degree lens fits on a laptop at arm's length rather than on a desktop monitor or TV mount where it captures the entire room. The edges of the image have a fish-eye effect, which is to be expected at this price point. The tripod mount works.
