Let me start by saying that this soundbar and subwoofer sound very good for the price. In fact, it sounds a little cleaner with better bass than my Yamaha YAS-107 soundbar - the reason I've been looking for a replacement. It has many settings as well as useful equalizer presets. Bass is tight and powerful but lacks boom, which I hate in many sound systems. A wired subwoofer is welcome compared to the recent trend of using wireless subwoofers. Wireless is convenient, but as you'll see from many of their reviews, they come with their own problems, such as: B. Interference with wireless TV receivers such as the U-Verse and frequent dropouts or loss of connection. A wired subwoofer doesn't have any of these issues, although you're more limited when it comes to placement. A minor gripe here is that the subwoofer uses a proprietary plug, similar to a DC power adapter. A standard RCA plug would be much better for adding extension cords to place the subwoofer further away from the soundbar. The subwoofer cable is approximately 7.5 feet long, long enough to place the subwoofer next to the entertainment device that holds the soundbar. Vocals are clear, although I found the vocal enhancement to be most useful at lower volumes, muffling a bit when turned on. Switching to Movie or 3D mode at higher volume produces more natural-sounding voices than News mode. All in all I would have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone looking for a budget soundbar with good specs. If you are using an LG TV, you may not be able to set up an HDMI ARC connection. I had this problem. The soundbar worked fine when using an optical connection, but played no sound when using HDMI ARC. I tried the soundbar on another TV with an HDMI ARC connection and it worked fine, so the soundbar is fine. Regardless, their support team sent me a new replacement within a few days - great support! He also didn't connect. My research has shown that LG TVs (especially their OLED models) are very picky about HDMI ARC connections. My Yamaha soundbar works fine, but the other two soundbars I've tried have the same symptoms - the band is recognized (the TV doesn't switch back to internal speakers) but there's no sound. Once you unplug the HDMI cable, it switches to the internal speakers. And yes, I've tried several different HDMI cables, including eARC 8K certified ones. I've heard Samsung QLED TVs have a similar dislike for some soundbar brands that use HDMI ARC. Verdict: This is an excellent soundbar in terms of value for money. If you have a non-LG OLED or Samsung QLED TV, you can connect it with just one HDMI ARC cable, allowing you to control the soundbar with your TV remote as if it were part of the TV. Or if you prefer an optical connection and don't mind using two remotes or learning remote programming, then this soundbar is a massive improvement over most internal flat panel speakers and I'd highly recommend it.
