I've had this thing for several months now and haven't had a single problem. I've noticed some water trapping between the top half's plastic and the bamboo handle, but as long as you leave it somewhere to dry there's no problem. I can't imagine people complaining that they have to click their brushes really well and rub really hard to get the tips loose. My family of 4 doesn't have a dishwasher and that's the only product I use aside from a set of straw brushes (no sponges or rags). He's managed to endure repeated vigorous cleaning of Dutch ovens, pots and the like. There are no problems here.
