Replacing the 3 speed shifter is easy. Remove the fan or cover with 3 screws. You can turn off the flashlight and put it aside. Unscrew the broken switch. Using a small flat head screwdriver, disconnect the 4 wires from the faulty switch by pushing and pulling on the wire. The new switch has L 1 2 3 L - black wire, 1 - orange, 2 - yellow, 3 - purple. Loosen the nut on the new switch, thread the chain through the hole in the fan. Tighten the nut on the new switch. Install the mirror and reattach it or the cover and 3 screws. Now your fan is ready.
