The BT-905 (2) batteries I received were Ni-Cad, not NiMH as advertised. However, the original BT-800 battery in my Uniden EXA15580 cordless phone was also made of nickel-cadmium. It was an 800mAh battery and not the BT-905's 600mAh battery. The original BT-800 battery lasted over 10 years before eventually failing to charge. The new BT-905 batteries arrived partially charged and I am not concerned about the nickel cadmium technology for my use. I had to shorten the "winding" of the battery a bit where the wires come out on the side to allow the wires to slide to the end of the battery. Otherwise, you could not use the cables to attach the battery cover to the phone. I haven't had time to evaluate the performance of the batteries, but the BT-905 is perfect to replace the BT-800 after changing the area where the wires stick out of the packaging. My dead phone came back to life with a new battery. I use this phone primarily as an answering machine and hope the new batteries will give it a few more years of life. These batteries are definitely a cheap alternative to buying a new cordless phone/answering machine. After fully charging the first BT-905 battery and using it for a few days, I switched to the second battery and used it for a few days. This allows me to assess how both batteries are performing. If they perform as well as the original BT 800 battery, I'll be very happy.
