I have purchased the new and old versions of this remote controlled shut off valve for two different homes. The new version is much better. The bracket that connects the device to the pipe is much stronger and the two clamps connected in series prevent the device from twisting due to the activation torque. The lever that attaches to the ball valve arm is again stronger than the old version, fully covers the ball valve arm and is adjustable for wider levers. I've used this on 1" copper tubing and a shark bite ball valve that has decent resistance. What I like about this new valve is that if the valve is not fully open after the first motor activation, it will advance the valve in short pulses a millimeter at a time. In the case of my shark bite valve, it fully opens the valve after about 10 consecutive shots. As mentioned, make sure to align the nut on the bottom of the unit with the pivot of your ball valve. This part is very important for the correct operation of the device. The connection to the Smart Life app worked smoothly. Big improvement. Highly recommended!
